Job Summary/Overview

As an Offshore Emergency Doctor, you will be responsible to provide medical and welfare support to on board exploration vessel operation offshore within Nigeria
Applicants must have received training and gained clinical exposure to Rapid Sequence Intubation (RSI) techniques within the last 18 months
Working on a rotational basis, doctors provide primary and emergency healthcare to all personnel on board.

Principal Responsibilities
First Aid training and promotion of lifestyle issues including fitness, alcohol awareness and healthy eating.
The successful candidate will also be responsible for health and hygiene inspections and advising on other safety issues, clinic management, general administration and computer based reporting.
Must always maintain a calm disposition under pressure.

Job Requirements and Qualifications
Education:
B.A/HND or its equivalent in Medicine, Surgery.
Experience:
At least 5 years post medical qualification experience; preferable but not mandatory to include remote site and/or pre-hospital experience.

Desirable Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
  1. Current and up-to-date medical certification
  2. Valid Offshore or NIMSAS Medical Certificate
  3. Evidence of Current Registration with MDCN
  4. Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification or equivalent
  5. Advanced Trauma life support (ATLS) certification or equivalent
  6. Basic Life Support (BLS) training & certification.
  7. Approved BOSIET offshore safety and survival training
  8. An understanding of current Health and Safety Legislation
  9. Security and Awareness Certificate with designated duties
  10. Good levels of health and fitness
  11. Computer literacy
  12. Excellent communication and influencing skills
  13. Good interpersonal relations.
  14. A team player able to work effectively within a multi-disciplinary team
  15. A customer-focused, positive approach to work.
  16. Excellent planning and organizational abilities.
  17. Experience working within an Occupational Health environment.
  18. Demonstrated experience and proficiency with tools, technology and systems typically found in a healthcare environment (I.e. Microsoft Office Suite, patient records systems, EMR systems etc.).
Work Environment/Other Information:
      Location is Offshore. Applicants may be located anywhere within Nigeria.
Offshore Doctor will be required to work 60 to 90 days per duration.
Employment Status: Ad-hoc/Contract
Interfacing with: Offshore Engineers, Company employees.
